My next 'Gunpla' models
My plan for the next 3 Gunpla models this year
A few years back (before I moved to Denver), I started working on a 3-part Gunpla project after I finished my custom Perfect Grade RX78-2. During that period where I was moving to the USA, I started working on a different MG Exia with some temporary tools I bought while waiting (what felt like an eternity) for my equipment to arrive. I decided to finish up that Exia model (which you can now see here) even when my stuff arrived, and that now brings us to today.
During my time building the the RX78-2 which featured heavy customisation, I wanted my next build to be even more ambitious. I figured instead of heavy subtractive modifications, I wanted to focus on my additive manufacturing. Given my love for furry culture and anthro characters, I figured taking the 'Arm frames' series and anthropomorphising them with manufactured tech-wear / tech fur would be the perfect way to stretch my skills.
Back then when I was still planning out the build, I came up with 3 rough designs + color schemes:
Since then, my tastes have changed slightly, and after seeing this vehicle (pictured below):
I was weirdly inspired to do a more sand-desert scheme for all 3 models. This is going to add more harmony and uniformity to the final diorama, while also making the three models feel like a proper unit.
I plan to start working on this as soon as my next music album is finished, and I'm most likely also going to try and add a ton of desert weathering. I might even add a grunge cloth cape to the center unit. I guess we will have to wait and see!
